Our newest exhibit, Meet Kúuta, invites families to learn about the Elderberry Tree, known as Kúuta, and its importance to the Payómkawichum people. Often called the “buffalo of trees,” every part of Kúuta is valued and used! Through interactive audio buttons in both Chamtéela and English, kiddos can listen, learn, and discover how Kúuta supports culture, tradition, and daily life. We are deeply grateful to our community partners at @ataaxum_pomkwaan, including Language Preservationist Reen Magante, Pauma Payómkawichum, and Vanessa Garcia Rincon Payómkawichum, for their partnership and collaboration in bringing this exhibit to life. ✨
