If you are hosting your event in a public space, such as a park, you may need a permit to have the Mobile Children’s Museum. Please contact your local city recreation department for more information. The Children’s Museum of Discovery is not responsible for obtaining permits.

An additional hour before and after the event is required for staff to set up and break down exhibits.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests, we require an additional staff member to be present, resulting in an additional one-time fee.

Yes, the Wind Tunnel exhibit requires access to electricity within 15 feet of the setup location. If electricity cannot be provided, the Wind Tunnel exhibit will be substituted with another available exhibit.

The Mobile Children’s Museum is not intended for assemblies but can support individual grade levels and classes! Visit our Mobile School Visits page to learn more.

An estimate is required for booking purposes. A final headcount, or estimate, is required three weeks prior to the event. Updates to your headcount made less than 21 days in advance will no longer qualify for pricing adjustments if the new headcount is less than initially submitted.

If your event has more than 500 guests, please contact us at mobile@visitcmod.org to talk through the best options for your event.

If more guests attend the event than planned, you will be invoiced $150 the following business week. Due to scheduling, we will not be able to increase the event time to accommodate more guests on the day of the event.

No. For scheduling and planning purposes, we are not able to offer refunds if fewer guests participate than planned.

No. The Mobile Children’s Museum can be booked for any amount of time. Please note that additional fees will apply.

To help keep our mobile exhibits clean and in the best possible condition for all participants, food and drinks are not permitted near the exhibits. We appreciate your understanding as this allows us to provide a safe, high-quality play experience for everyone.

Events must be paid in full once the inquiry has been approved by our team.​

Any cancellations made up to 21 days in advance of your event will be entitled to a full refund. Any cancellations made 10 – 20 days in advance of your event will be entitled to a 50% refund. Cancellations made after these time periods are not eligible for a refund.

Please note: All cancellations, regardless of timing, will result in a $25 processing fee.
